Bill Ronay & I have been going to the Mossy Creek Barnyard Festival for years now. We’ve watched the exhibitors dwindle, and are very curious about WHY.
Carolyn Chester and her family do a good job keeping buy/sell at bay. The entry fee for exhibitors is low. Setting up & tearing down is easy. Parking is easy. The crowd, while not record-breaking, is steady and is buying.
We come every April and October to visit our friends Ann & Lee Murrell from Miami. They have always sold their Copper Creations steadily. As we visit with exhibitors we’ve known for years, they, also are selling steadily.
Not so long ago, there were booths stretching solidly in rows in front and in back, and exhibitors on both sides of Ann & Lee. At this show, there were two or three exhibitors in their row with many spaces across and behind them.
We’ve been to hundreds of shows, and have seen a lot of changes. But the dwindling number of exhibitors here is a puzzle to us. If you were a multi-time exhibitor at Mossy Creek, and no longer show here, will you share with me WHY? Are you doing another event in its place? If so, how is the other event working out at the bottom line?
Feel free to email me, if you would like to keep your opinion private. If you’d like to join a discussion, feel free to post on Facebook. I’d really like to know what is happening.
