I’m Thankful for Texting Gloves!

Karen Walker

Texting Gloves hand-knit by Karen Walker, Heirloomlace

I got two Christmas gifts from dear friends that I’ve worn almost every day since! I am so thankful to have both pair of these spiffy texting gloves that I wanted to share. If you’ve seen texting gloves and are on the verge of buying them for you or your loved ones, GET THEM. They are wonderful.

(Each glove in both pair match the other in size… from the way I took these pictures, one looks smaller than the other. They aren’t!)

Karen Walker, www.heirloomlace.etsy.com, knit these soft, warm, RED 100% pure merino gloves. Deborah Karwisch bought them for me at Mableton’s Christmas House in early December.

If you haven’t made Christmas House a regular event during which to buy lovely handmade gifts, start in 2011. The dates for this year should be Dec 2-11. Over 60 craft makers offer their creations, ranging in price from a few dollars to a couple hundred dollars. The work is varied from little ornaments to fabulous texting gloves and paintings.

Texting Gloves from Addies at Barnsley Gardens

These black texting gloves came from Addie’s at Barnsley Gardens near Adairsville. And they were the first texting gloves I’d seen in person. There were red ones, grey ones, blue ones and these fine black ones. I couldn’t decide which ones to get. So my friend Annette helped me. They match other pieces we bought there.

The mid-weight felting goes higher up my fingers; and, they are roomy enough for me to wear over fingered-gloves during these cold days we’ve been having.

In mid-December, four girlfriends & I had a “girls night out” at Barnsley Gardens. We had been to the Woodlands Grill for dinner a couple times before and loved it. But this time, Marka Palmer, the buyer for the extraordinary finds in the shops on property, invited us to stop by Addie’s first. We had an absolute BALL.

Next time you are looking for a special place for your loved one or a group of friends, check out Barnsley Gardens. And do NOT miss Addie’s. Great, great finds await you everywhere at the Resort!

Thank you, Deborah and Annette, for my gloves. I love them!
